We connect to your email and your FreeAgent account. That is a lot of access. Here is what we do with it, and what we don't.
The system
- We only read PDF attachments from your email. No email body content is read or stored.
- We import the minimum data we need from FreeAgent to find matches. We do not import account numbers, sort codes, or anything we do not need.
- FreeReconcile does not touch transactions you have already explained in FreeAgent. Your existing bookkeeping is left alone.
- Every match goes through your review before anything is written to FreeAgent. Nothing happens without your approval.
- Every explanation FreeReconcile creates can be undone. You can see a log of every action and reverse any match.
- You can disconnect your email or FreeAgent account at any time. Once disconnected, FreeReconcile can no longer access your data.

support@freereconcile.ioYou sign in with Google or connect your email provider via OAuth. We never see or store your password. We only look at PDF attachments to find receipts and invoices. You can disconnect any time from your account settings.
Yes. We only process PDF files, nothing else. Your FreeAgent tokens are encrypted at rest. We don't store raw email content, just enough metadata to do the matching. Everything goes over TLS. If you ever want out, disconnect and your data is removed.
Pretty good. We match on merchant name, amount, and date. Most receipts match first time. When there's ambiguity, we show you the options and let you pick. Nothing gets applied to FreeAgent unless you approve it.
Yes. If you get an invoice from Stripe, OpenAI, Adobe, or any non-UK SaaS provider, FreeReconcile will flag it as reverse charge and pick the right FreeAgent category. It also handles exempt, zero-rated, and standard rate correctly.
It works with any FreeAgent account that has API access. If you can log into FreeAgent and see your bank transactions, you're good to go.
Just reject it. You review every match before it touches FreeAgent. If something was already applied and turns out wrong, you can fix it directly in FreeAgent like you normally would.
